Sushmita Roy


Sushmita Roy is an associate at Welby Brady & Greenblatt LLP.  Mrs. Roy specializes in all aspects of complex multi-party construction litigation including cases involving disputes arising out of AIA contracts, design defects, construction administration services, construction defects, adjacent property protection, underpinning and shoring, water infiltration, weatherproofing, under slab drainage design and construction, licensing agreements, property damages, delay damages, impact damages, and professional malpractice. Mrs. Roy has experience representing developers, owners, construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers.   Mrs. Roy has participated in multiple large scale mediations and has successfully mediated an impact damages case by reaching a settlement agreement for $2.25 Million in favor of a subcontractor.  Mrs. Roy has also successfully defended an appeal in the First Department which upheld the dismissal of a subcontractor based on the economic loss rule.   Prior to her experience in construction litigation Mrs. Roy gained notable trial experience litigating cases involving child abuse and neglect in Brooklyn Family Court on behalf of New York City.
